Homework
Take Home Folder: Your child will bring home a folder each day with notes, important papers, and homework assignments. Please empty the folder each night and initial the calendar to show that you've seen the contents. This calendar page will also serve as a communication tool for parents and the teacher. Look for comments from the teacher or jot us a note whenever needed.
Reading: Please read approximately 10 minutes every night at home. Remember to log the minutes your child reads on the Take Home Folder calendar.
Studying at home
Math: Parent Tips will come home at the beginning of each module explaining what will be taught in the upcoming lessons. Please keep these letters so you can refer to them when supporting your child at home in math. Included will be helpful vocabulary and ideas for practicing math skills at home.
Science and Social Studies: At the end of every Science and Social Studies unit, a folder of your child's work will come home along with a review sheet. Most items from the test will be covered on the review so you can practice for the test directly from that sheet. Look through your child's folder of work to reinforce concepts and vocabulary taught throughout the unit. Please sign and return the entire folder on test day. This work will be saved in a portfolio that your child will bring home at the end of the year.
